A benefit for the Angel Hair Foundation
Often we take advantage of the hair we are blessed with. What we think of as normal, many children think of as beautiful because they are suffering from hair loss. A full head of hair is to be celebrated, and now the cost of pampering yourself can help children who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy, radiation or alopecia. A beautiful new hairstyle for you can mean beautiful Angel Hair for a child. On May 10, the Angel Hair Foundation is coordinating Styles for Smiles, a fundraiser with local salons. When you go to one of the salon sponsors, 15 percent of your hair service will go to providing a child with an Angel Hair System. (Please note that while we appreciate your participation, the Angel Hair Foundation does not take hair donations.)
These salon sponsors will be donating 15 percent of salon service revenue for May 10, as well as hosting donation boxes:
- Bello
- Gervais (both locations)
- Hair Virtuoso
- Kelly at Salon Fleur De Lis
- Mia Bella
- Mirage Hair Studio
- Reflections
- Chikara
- CJ Salon
- Hair by Laurie
- Lux
- The Moxie
- Personally Yours
- Poppies
- Roni's Hair Care
- Salon DeLange
In addition to the generous donation of the listed local salons, two restaurants in the Oakway Center will be contributing 10 percent of the days revenue to the Angel Hair Foundation: Johnny Oceans Grille and Oakway Wine & Bistro (formerly known as Oakway Wine & Deli), both owned by Shawn Rahimian.
"Thank you for allowing me to live my greatest wish: to finally feel confident." Angel Hair ChildAngel Hair Foundation is a private, non-profit corporation that reaches out to kids in Oregon who have lost their hair due to medical illness. The foundation provides the funding needed to purchase "Angel Hair Systems" for kids and teens.
Our goal is to help children who deal with social acceptance issues because of physical appearances, specifically hair loss. We are committed to improving the quality of life for these children by helping them regain their positive self-image.
Angel Hair Foundation founder, Staci Wright, is a cancer survivor herself. Angel Hair Systems are available to all kids and teens who live or are treated in Oregon thanks to Staci.
